Mashaun Ali Hendricks
Restorative Justice practitioner, artist, and trainer with over 15 years of experience transforming how people share space.
As a trainer and practitioner, Mashaun trains teachers and administrators K–12, community impact professionals, juvenile and adult justice professionals, system and public institutions, including Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Police Department, and Cook County Courts.
His approach moves beyond theory and jargon, centering heart-first learning, and intellect second. His trainings are immersive, practice-based, and designed for embodiment, no scripts, no shortcuts, and no diluted, cookie-cutter rushed models.
As an artist, Mashaun expands Restorative Justice beyond traditional spaces through product making, installations, and public activations. His work has been featured in collaboration with institutions such as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Leaders 1354, DePaul Art Museum, 6018 North, and other arts institutions.
His projects, including CRIMEDROUGHT, unResolved., Black Restorative Justice, TRAP House Chicago, Red Summer Project, and others explore themes of violence prevention, historical repair, collective healing, and authentic liberation.
His concept stores function as living spaces for his projects, hosting spaces for the circle process, training, and creating opportunities for community practice and connection.
Across all mediums, Mashaun’s work is rooted in one commitment: cultivating deep heart connection as a pathway to safety, accountability, healing, and a more whole future.
